Languedoc

Saint-Pargoire

Mylène Bru, a native of Corbières in southern Languedoc, began her winemaking journey in 2008 with a profound attachment to the land and its natural rhythms. She discovered the abandoned estate of La Fon de Lacan in the scrublands near Saint-Pargoire, perched on ancient limestone hills enriched with seashells and marine sediments from a long-vanished sea. Over the years, she and her partner, Bruno Barwise, cultivated this remote, wind-swept land, establishing a biodynamic vineyard across 6.5 hectares divided into fifteen small parcels. The isolation of the site, combined with its exposure to strong winds, encourages healthy vines and low yields, allowing each grape to develop intense concentration. Here, the colors of the land, from deep blues to soft greens and pale whites, mirror the wines themselves, which express both charm and density, capturing the unique essence of Languedoc’s terroir and its garrigue landscape.
Initially living in Sète, Mylène later moved to a small shed within the vineyards, fully immersed in nature and in harmony with her surroundings. Working with minimal intervention, she avoids filtration and fining, and uses very little or no sulfur in her winemaking. The vineyard hosts a fascinating range of grapes, including Grenache, Carignan, Cinsault, Mourvèdre, and even the surprising Chasselas, rare in this region, which adds brightness and delicacy to her white cuvées. Her wines, including Les Moulins de Mon Coeur and Far Ouest, showcase remarkable aromatic complexity and authentic expression of their terroir, full of Mediterranean herbs, wildflowers, and earthy mineral notes. With each vintage, Mylène and Bruno continue to champion a vision of wine deeply tied to its land, wines that are evocative, memorable, and unmistakably alive, leaving a lasting impression on anyone who tastes them.
